Below are the list of German characters who appeared in the Polly Pocket series

• Polly Pocket - the title character with light tone skin, blonde hair and light blue eyes. She is described to be a confident, cool, friendly, optimistic, and loyal friend who loves having fun, adventures, and most importantly, friends. She has many hobbies, such as roller-skating, water-skiing, showboading, shopping, playing music and cooking.

• Shani - dark tone skin, dark brown hair and brown eyes.

• Lea - tan tone skin with freckles, orange hair and light green eyes.

• Lila - pale tone skin, brown hair and light purple eyes.

• Crissy - olive tone skin, black hair with a magenta streak, and dark brown eyes

• Kerstie - light tone skin, dark brown hair and blue eyes.

• Rick - light tone skin, blonde hair and light blue eyes, like Polly.

History of Polly Pocket

In 1983 Chris Wiggs created Polly for his daughter Kate with the idea of creating a toy tiny enough to fit into a pocket. Using a powder compact, he created a tiny house for the teensy doll. Wiggs licensed the product through Bluebird Toys of Swindon, England and Polly Pocket first appeared in stores in 1989.

In the early 90's, Mattel had distribution arrangements with Bluebird to sell Polly Pocket and in 1998, Mattel bought Bluebird toys. Mattel changed the look of Polly Pocket in 1999 and added a series of collectible items. The new Polly Pocket design is more realistic and slightly larger than the original. Soon after the new Polly, Mattel came out with Fashion Polly, which used the same characters from the new designed Polly Pocket. The new Fashion Polly Pocket came with bendable joints and *Polly Stretch* clothing made of a rubber-like material. Also new to Polly Pocket is the newly introduced magnetic Polly World line, where Polly and her friends have magnetic hands and feet and attach to most surfaces in the magnetic Polly world.

About Polly Pocket

Polly Pocket is a toy line of dolls and accessories. The name comes from the fact that many of the original Polly Pocket dolls came in pocket-size cases. The current Fashion Polly dolls sold by Mattel differ significantly from those originally sold by Bluebird Toys. The original Bluebird dolls were less than one inch tall and made of hard plastic. Mattel's versions are two to three inches tall and are composed of a pliable plastic with soft rubberized clothing and fashion accessories.
